Received this email from Linzi this morning, be interesting to hear other people's thoughts...
Hi Louise,
Luvin the sunshine, woohoo.
Glad your back safe and sound.
I'm sure you've more than plenty to do, but I just wanted to share some articles I found on the web the other day about copyrite that I thought made a really interesting read. Some are quite old, perhaps I'm just slow to get the news here in Shrewsbury. links are:

maybe could open up a debate on the rafale forum?

  1. So if a company wants to rip you off, in most cases, there is nothing you can do about it?:-(
  2. Food for thought indeed. I wasn't aware of these cases but I did know that unless you already have a lot of money a court case is not going to help.
The advise to get out there and become as well known as possible is a sound one.....I'm not sure that I could be that prolific....no comments Lou ;-)
  3. They are interesting stories Linz, and are of no real surprise to anyone. Im not sure i totally understand the Paul Smith shirt one, as the writer says "The birds I used in my coding study were culled from other people’s Flickr photos", and then flipped & used by a PS designer for the shirt. Who took the original 7pictures?? Looked good though don't they?
The Urban Outfitters is perhaps the most blatant as they asked for the Tshirts to consider stocking for the shop, and then directly "used" the idea, although the image is the least like the original from the three examples. Its a minefield!!:\
